Welcome!

Welcome to my new site and blog! I hope you’ll find the information and services here useful to you as you begin your new journey into financial wellness. For this first post, I thought I would recount a personal conversation that I recently had with a friend. She said to me, “I wish I’d met you 10 years ago, and I wish I had gotten my finances in order when I was younger.” This statement resonated with me because I’ve had the same thoughts many times in my life. If you’re like me, this type of self talk is quite common, and I have fallen victim to it often.

While it can be beneficial to reflect on past mistakes in order to learn what things need to be changed, the tendency to dwell on the regret can be harmful. It can lead to a punishing inner dialog that can easily cause us to remain stuck in stagnant patterns that do not allow us to improve, and it can derail financial growth and the achievement of goals.

With that in mind, I would suggest to my clients the same advice that I offered my friend as we talked, and that which I try to consistently remind myself, which is to simply START. Simply start where you are. This is the first step in a series of steps that will lead to financial independence.

Do not allow fear or guilt over past mistakes to stop you from making a start. Instead, within a tried and tested framework of action steps that we term, “The Baby Steps,” set attainable goals for yourself, and start with the first step. Then continue to build on a series of next right steps.

All of us begin this journey from different starting points. All we can do is start where we are and continue to move forward daily by doing one right thing at a time until, eventually, a solid path of positive decisions creates a bright new financial outlook. I look forward to being a partner as you walk that path! If you’d like to discuss a new financial start, please reach out to me.
